When I first came to Calvary, 2 and a half years ago at the height of the pandemic, one of the first things that I noticed is the sense of fellowship among the people. Even when we could not meet in person, the care and compassion for one another was palpable.
Calvary is known for being a church of great love and generosity, modeling itself after the first church in Acts 4:42-47.
“And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. And all who believed were together and had all things in common. And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.”
This passage is often titled “the fellowship of the believers”. Calvary is truly a fellowship of believers in a way that few churches I’ve been a part of have achieved, and Colton and I have experienced that so acutely since welcoming baby Cora. We have been overwhelmed with the love and care of our church family, and feel so grateful to be a part of this fellowship. Thank you to each and every one that has prayed for us, called, brought food, and made this transition such a time of blessing. We truly love the family here at Calvary!
