Labor Day is upon us! Most people think of Labor Day as the traditional end of summer. It’s time to start planning for cooler weather and fall activities! I like to hang onto summer as long as I can. Squeezing every bit of outdoors time I can get, whether it be on the lake, the golf course, or at the ball field, I want to be out in the sun. I know most of you are like me in this aspect, you want to be in the warm presence of the sun for as long as you can.
As Christians, do we continually seek to be in the presence of the Son?
We know we cannot survive without the sun, but do we think we can survive without the Son? Do we need the presence of the Son daily in our lives to thrive as Christians? Or do we receive enough Son on Sunday mornings?
Let me encourage you not to see the Son as something we only enjoy for a season like the warmth of the sun in the summer. Embrace the presence of the Son daily in your lives. Come into His presence at every opportunity.
Join us each Sunday morning at 9:00 for Sunday School. Being actively involved in these small group Bible studies helps us to know God’s Word better and teaches us how to apply it to our lives. This is a great opportunity to grow a sense of community and create real fellowship. We have our High Attendance Sunday coming up on September 17. I pray you will make every effort to be there and invite someone to join you.
Serving Together, Pastor Jeff
